Sensory Movers is a community-based, sensory-aware movement group reducing barriers to participation for neurodivergent and disabled adults through flexible, inclusive, and low-pressure sessions.
Our access approach
Sensory Movers is designed with accessibility at its core:
• Low-pressure, non-judgemental environment
• Sensory-aware lighting, sound, and materials
• Freedom to sit, rest, observe, roam, or leave the space
• No requirement to speak, perform, or participate in specific ways
• Clear information shared in advance
• Led by lived experience of neurodivergence
We run monthly 60-minute sessions that includes a gentle warm-up, open practice movement time, and a calm cool-down. Everything is adaptable to different bodies, energy levels, and comfort needs. You are welcome at Sensory Movers group exactly as you are.
Nicola Smith
Facilitator Nicola is Audhd (Autistic + ADHD), Para Dance UK instructor with a Masters in Fine Art. Nicola facilitates Sensory Movers sessions because traditional dance classes can feel overly structured and there is a need for open practice experiences for the community. At Sensory Movers group you lead your own movement journey in a safe space.
